Laces out, Dan! Full Fat Games brings the first of many flick themed football games to iOS.
Just the fact that Flick QB has managed to snag the NFL license should say something about the quality of a game, right? While that last statement may have been written somewhat incredulously, yes, in fact this is a very solid game. As the name implies, the player is laced into the cleats of an up and coming NFL quarterback. The simple mandate is to complete a many passes as possible.
Though easy in concept, execution is a whole different beast all together. Sliding the finger across the screen in the direction of an open receiver sets the quarterback’s arm in motion, but it is easy to lose sight of the number of defenders on the field, the strength of the wind and even the distance that a player needs to be led, in order to catch a pass in stride.
However, with a little time and practice, things will become much easier for budding phenoms. Once things have become repetitive enough, players can move onto a couple more of the precision based performance modes, all of which help to improve the player’s standings. The problem is that for all the fun that the title can provide, it still doesn’t seem like enough to occupy attention for more than a couple of hours.
At the end of the day a portable game is only as fun as the number of times it can be replayed and NFL Flick QB lacks the staying power to justify a $2.99 purchase. While it isn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, it is just a bit too much over our salary cap.

Game works well on Galaxy S. But id like to see players breaking the odd tackle. Cos ur RB are pointless as u get 1-3 yards
