Big in Japan Dec 12-18: FF XIII-2, PS Vita

All eyes were fixed on the PlayStation Vita when it launched in Japan on December 17, so there's no surprise that its presence made itself known in the recent Media Creates sales chart on both the software and hardware sides. Not to be outdone, the release of a major Final Fantasy title in the country proved that RPG juggernauts can still mix with the big kids, even with everybody talking about the availability of a new device.
The PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIII-2 debuted at first place on the sales chart for the week of December 12 through December 18 with 525,271 units sold. However, the Xbox 360 version was nowhere to be found in the top 20 list. The game takes place after the events of Final Fantasy XIII and stars recurring character, Serah Farron, and new character, Noel Kriess. New to the sequel are bigger dungeons, multiple story arcs involving fixing time paradoxes, and new enhancements to the Paradigm Shift battle system.
Monster Hunter 3G was knocked down a peg, but maintained a steady sales position; Capcom sold 208,427 units of the 3DS iteration of the action RPG. Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS was placed just behind Monster Hunter 3G with 182,418 units sold, while the latest instalment of the Inazuma Eleven series--Inazuma Eleven Go for the 3DS--was at fourth place with 135,259 units sold.
The top-selling PS Vita title was Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, followed by Uncharted: Golden Abyss. The former was at seventh place with 61,412 units sold, while the latter was at eighth place after shifting 48,224 copies. Other Vita titles that made it into the top 20 included Dynasty Warriors Next which was at 18th place with 29,181 units sold, and Lord of Apocalypse which was at 19th place with 28,742 units sold.
In hardware, the PS Vita showed strong first-week sales, but was unable to pass Nintendo's 3DS portable for the number one spot. Sony sold 324,859 units of the PS Vita while Nintendo sold 367,691 units of the 3DS during the same period. Sony also sold 65,119 PS3s and 64,468 PSPs in the same week.

PS Vita - Tаkіng A Step Intо Thе Future of Gaming

Several months аgо Sony stated thе coming оf thе successor tоwаrdѕ thе PSP, referred tо аѕ thе PS Vita. Month's bеfоrе Nintendo introduced thеіr mоѕt current handheld video gaming machine, thе 3DS. Aftеr іtѕ kick оff thе 3DS hаѕ received lackluster revenue causing Nintendo tо tоо rapidly decrease thе price tag wіth thе gaming console. Numerous аrе speedy tо ѕау thаt thе competitors frоm уоur mobile handset online game marketplace hаѕ cannibalized 3DS revenue. Nonetheless, іѕ thіѕ trulу thе situation? If it's not, thеn whу hаѕ thе 3DS battled ѕо muсh аnd еxасtlу whаt саn thе Playstation Vita carry оut tо steer clear оf thе ѕаmе problems.

The оnе thіng thаt impacts аn application give оff mоrе thаn аnуthіng соuld bе thе stable оf gaming applications launched wіth it. At іtѕ unveiling, Nintendo ѕоmеwhаt hаd quіtе а fеw high profile 3rd party computer games running wіth thе programs (Madden, Super Street Fighter, Sims) tо nаmе а few. On thе оthеr hand, mоѕt оf thеѕе applications wеrе hаlf prepared release labels. Nеаrlу аll оf thеѕе attained undesirable testimonials аnd wasn't persuasive. Attention decreased rapidly.

From а technology perspective thе 3DS іѕ modern. It trulу іѕ thе fіrѕt portable game playing device tо convincingly tаkе advantage оf 3D, fоr essentially thе mоѕt part. Althоugh thе 3D effect іѕ portentous, thе small view area tеndѕ tо mаkе thе programme cumbersome аnd ѕоmеtіmеѕ difficult tо work with. In addition, fіrѕt warnings frоm Nintendo wіth rеgаrdѕ tо extended uѕе оf уоur 3D effect dіd nоt help.

What еxасtlу саn thе Playstation Vita dо tо stop thеѕе problems? Prоbаblу thе mоѕt vital point Sony саn perform wоuld bе tо provide аn extraordinary game selection fоr thе Playstation Vita. Sо fаr ѕеvеrаl effective PS3 operations hаvе сurrеntlу introduced Playstation Vita variants: Uncharted, Call оf Duty, Silent Hill, Resistance, Mortal Kombat аnd а lot more. Evеn so, Sony nееdѕ tо highlight good quality mоrе thаn volume wіth thеѕе initial roll-out titles. Interesting video games wіll attract mоrе game enthusiasts аnd generate greater revenue tо thе Playstation Vita.

On paper, thе PS Vita саn bе а electronic beast. It hаѕ nеаrlу аѕ muсh energy lіkе thе PS3 аnd іѕ а small percentage іn thе size. It hаѕ а lot оf nice functions ѕuсh аѕ а front touch screen аlоng wіth а bасk touch pad аlѕо а three-axis gyroscope аlоng wіth а three-axis accelerometer. All оf thіѕ high-tech stuff suggests absolutely nоthіng unlеѕѕ programmers mаkе uѕе оf thеѕе attributes іn distinctive аnd inventive ways. Sony requires tо mature thе creative thinking оn thеіr vеrу fіrѕt party programmers аnd propel thеm tо work wіth thе technology іn methods wе hаvе nоt ѕееn іn advance. If Sony's fіrѕt party designers саn showcase еxасtlу whаt thе Playstation Vita іѕ capable of, thеn 3rd party builders wіll сеrtаіnlу jump іn аnd possibly Sony mау hаvе іtѕ vеrу fіrѕt dеfіnіtеlу prosperous hand-held video gaming product.

GZero Spaceship Tour

Another one of my animated creations using goanimate in Youtube.  Again, this is not to be taken as a real PS Vita game, or any game at all.  I am only roleplaying and practicing my animation skills using the software.  About the video: since this video came from youtube user "gerinja" the spaceship is short for GerinjaZero.

If you do wish to find out more about the new Sony's handheld.  then please by all means visit PS-Vita-Replay.com for news, articles and more.  Thank you all the for visits and have a wonderful day.

Fight of the lil Petz PS Vita

Another video of me roleplaying with PS Vita screen. Please know that this video is not claiming a real PS Vita game. It was made with computer animation software.  I think that nobody in their right mind would think this is the best graphics the new PS Vita will have.  I mean the graphics of the actual PS vita will be compare to that of the PS3!!! isn't that just awesome.  Hopefully the real games for the PS Vita will not be disappointing.  and can't wait to see which titles will be available in the fighting genre.

Visit ps-vita-replay.com for real news concerning Sony's new revolutionary handheld Playstation Vita.

Fake PS Vita Game with Goanimate Roleplaying

The main goal here was to test the goanimate software. It really did not work out so good. I found it hard to make the PS Vita background look decent. Instead I got this pixalated distorted background.

Well, I guess I am just celebrating the soon to be released PS Vita. Will definatily buy myself one. Hope it works out good, and be better than it's rival Nintendo 3DS.

Are you getting a Sony PS Vita? If you have heard the news about this new Sony handheld; Do you think the PS Vita will be a total success in North America or a complete failure?

Will PS Vita Titles Be Cheaper Than PSP Titles?

In the world of sophisticated gaming, Sony is a leader. Sony’s Play Station has been the favorite for several generations and this company is not about to lose its edge. The Play Station Vita has announced twenty-six launch titles for its debut in Japan, December 2011. There are more than eighty more titles in the developmental stage at present time. These Japanese gaming-industry giants are making a point to have all the right games (and their titles) in place. Their hope is to beat Nintendo as the competitor.

The question is though, will the expected high price tag of these games be worth it. It is unclear as to when the games will be available to buy. Also unclear is whether or not the titles will be available outside of Japan. So far, the only clear information is the title of the games and their logos. Some of the more popular titles is the remake of Final Fantasy X HD, Street Fighter vs. Tekken, and Metal Gear Solid HD.

Sony has been careful to not mention pricing, even though it is expected to be on the higher end for the PS Vita titles. However, retailers expect the PS Vita titles to be cheaper than the PSP titles. Their reasoning goes as follows: when considering the exchange rate of the Japanese yen to that of the dollar, the British pound or the euro, the price for buying the new PS Vita titles in Japan might actually work out to be lower than buying the PSP titles in the in these other countries. In addition, the latest and greatest game always starts out priced high but quickly falls to a moderate range as demand decreases. This is the only speculation one can make considering it is not certain that these games will be available outside of Japan.

Chances are good that with the present gloomy condition of the Japanese market (natural disasters are largely to blame), Sony will take full advantage of its marketability and launch these games into the rest of the eagerly-awaiting world. It is also quite likely that once those games make it to the west, retailers will become hyper competitive and slash prices as low as possible. Serious gamers are waiting with their cash in hand.

Is Sony's PS Vita Launching Price Fair?

The question that has every one talking is: Is the launching price of the PS Vita a fair price? And the answer would have to be ,yes it is. Consider what the new hand held PS Vita has to offer and compare it to the others that it is replacing. While the new PS Vita may seem expensive it reality it is priced very low. Other hand held game consoles have sold for the same price in the very beginning and some were even a bit more expensive.

When you take the PS Vita and do some side by side comparisons you will see a lot of upgrades in the Vita, much better graphics, much better sound, and right around 512mb of ram and 128 of vram. So while it might be considered pricey it is well worth it. The only difference in the price would be the higher amount that the you will have to pay for the console that is made for WI-FI only. This one will be slightly more expensive, but not by to much. This hand held console is not going to be released until right around December of 2012 at least in Japan.

If you are considering this new PS console then you are not going to be disappointed what so ever, it even comes with a GPS built in to it. This little hand held PS Vita will take the world by storm and every one will be standing in line so that they will be sure to be among the first to purchase this new console. Other PlayStation consoles have came and gone with the years, but when thinking back, not one of these were much cheaper to purchase when they were first released to the public. And even now if you want the top of the line PS consoles you will be paying top dollar. In comparison to other hand held consoles, this new one is worht every penny that Sony will be asking for.

The PS Vita Has Extra Game Reality! Way Cooler Than 3D

There is a dinosaur in the middle of the city's street!

This has to be viewed by all.  Now interacting with creatures found in game will be fun in a whole different level!  I also like the little fishy flying around.

Will this feature put the 3DS to rest in peace like a lot of people have been saying?  Probably not, in any case, it will be a huge advantage for the PS Vita.  I am so anxiously waiting for this new machine.

Tire of me babbling now, so just enjoy the video below :D

Could PS Vita mean the death of the PSP?

Sony's new PS Vita is slated for release sometime in 2012, but back in 2005 the PSP reigned supreme. That year, stores like Best Buy were selling out of these small gaming investments like there was no tomorrow. There was a mad rush to get one before Christmas that year and several stores had to place the item on back-order or give rain-checks to unlucky customers. This was definitely the most popular portable device amongst teens, children ages 9 and up, and adults alike and for a good reason: this was the most innovative portable gaming device ever to hit the market.

The PSP's predecessor's occurred decades earlier with Sega's Game Gear being released in 1991, and Nintendo's Gameboy in 1989. The Game Gear was innovative in that it featured a back-lit LED color screen and better, crisper graphics than the Nintendo Gameboy. Sega's Game Gear saw a sharp rise in popularity and a steep decline as well, due to Nintendo's competitive release of the Gameboy pocket, a slimmed-down, multi-colored version of the Gameboy.

The PSP blew these previous portable consoles out of the water. It's graphics were super-sharp, it had a built-in joystick, a wide horizontal viewing screen, it played movies and mp3's, it boasted Wi-Fi capability for multi-player gameplay, and it could browse the internet wherever there was Wi-Fi available. This truly was a modern marvel of portable gaming.

Now Sony plans to one-up itself with a newer version of what made their first portable device a hit.

The PS Vita is slated for North American release some time in 2012 but already crowds are eagerly anticipating it's arrival. What makes it different from the PSP is it's massive 5-inch, 24-bit color touchscreen, a Sixaxis motion sensor (with Three-axis electronic compass), front and back VGA cameras, built in GPS, and the option for 3G support, which would mean internet accessibility anytime you're in range of reception.

This powerhouse of a portable gaming console will be highly sought after by avid members of the gaming community and most likely the PSP will be forgotten about. Users wishing to upgrade from their current PSP will take refuge in the fact that the PS Vita will be backwards compatible, meaning it'll be able to play games from the previous PSP device. This, hopefully, should make the transition to Vita much easier for everyone.

Street Fighter X Tekken Roster | Release Date

Street Fighter X Tekken (SFXT) is a highly anticipated tag team crossover game from Capcom that features characters from both the Tekken franchise (Namco) and the Street Fighter series (Capcom). The cast includes famous names like Ryu, Chun-Li and Nina Williams in fighting environments that blend 2D and 3D elements. All characters retain their powers, and Tekken characters will be able to evade projectile attacks. In addition to standard game play, Fight Request allows players to go online and challenge all comers.

Game play in SFXT will be familiar to Street Fighter fans who have used that game’s 6-button layout. Tekken players have the option of choosing the 4-button layout of their system. The player can use both the 6 and 4 button layouts without extra configuration. Street Fighter elements like Super Combos and EX Attacks (from Street Fighter IV) are also included.

The game’s tag team element lets players switch characters in and out of fights normally, or in the midst of combos with techniques like “Switch Cancel.” The three-sectioned “Cross Gauge” meter at the bottom of the screen displays how much power the character builds up. The player can use the Cross Gauge to execute certain special moves and power up attacks. The following techniques use the Cross Gauge:

“Super Art” spontaneously releases a character’s Super Art talent, such as Kazuya’s Devil Beam. (Tekken characters retain their Super Arts.) “Cross Art”, perhaps the game’s most destructive technique, lets both characters summon their Super Arts powers against on enemy. Cross Art drains the Cross Gauge, but yields massive devastation.

“Cross Assault” lets the player attack with both of their characters at the same time, using tag combos to defeat an opponent. Once the Cross Gauge is depleted, the second character leaves the game. “Cross Rush” unleashes a potent combo that, upon completion, also tags in your partner.

Button mashers can also get in on the fun. Pressing the heavy attack buttons together will yield “Launcher” moves that send the player’s opponent high into the air while simultaneously tagging in their character’s partner. Combos including ‘juggling' the enemy while airborne can be performed. Players can bypass the Cross Gauge by using the “Super Charge” technique. Hold down a special move button to charge it up to 3 levels, and it’ll automatically become a Super Art. Whoever wins the most rounds wins the match.

As a crossover game, SFXT features characters from the Street Fighter franchise and the Tekken series from Namco. Each character will have their rival(s), such as Ryu and Kazuya or Ken Masters and Nina Williams. Characters (along with their tag partners) expected to appear in Street Fighter Tekken X include:

Hugo (Bellowing Giant). His tag team partner is Poison.

King (The Silent Jaguar) and Marduk (Brutal Vale Tudo Fighter)

Raven (Shadow Dancing Raven) and Yoshimitsu (Inheritor of the Demon Sword).

Sagat (The King With No Equal) and Dhalsim (Guided By The Holy Flame).

Steve (Stinging Hook) and Hwoarang (Free Wheeling Kicks).

Cammy (Unrelenting Soldier) and Chun-Li (Legs Of Justice)

Abel (Seeking His Past) and Guile.

Ken (The Eternal Rival) and Ryu (Master of the Hado).

Kazuya (Controller of the Devil) and Nina (Cold Blooded Killer).

Bob (The Perfect Body) and Julia (Nature Loving Beauty).

Rival character matchups in SFXT include Ryu and Kazuya, Ken and Nina, Guile and Marduk, Abel and King, Chun-Li and Bob, Cammy and Julia, Sagat and Hwoarang, Dhalism and Steve, Poison and Yoshimitsu, Hugo and Raven, Ibuki and Kuma.

At E-3 2011, Sony announced that Cole McGrath, the protagonist of the “Infamous” series, will be included in the roster as a playable character exclusive to their PlayStation Vita handheld game system. Confirmed missing from the cast of SFXT will be Dan Hibiki (Street Fighter) and Anna Williams (Tekken).

Street Fighter X Tekken is expected to be released in March 2012 and will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS Vita game systems. (As always, the release date is subject to change.) For the record, Street Fighter X Tekken is pronounced “Street Fighter Cross Tekken.”

PS Vita Games at Launch

The release of the new PS Vita is well anticipated with fans of the PlayStation brand. Many are wondering what makes the Vita an improvement from the previous PSP. Many will be surprised by the amount of features it comes with. It is said to have Wi Fi, multiplayer chat, multi touch 5 inch OLED, PS3 integration, and dual analog sticks. But in the midst of the launch press conference many are wondering what games will be announced. These are a few of the titles which are said to be announced.

One of these new titles which is said to be released is Uncharted: Golden Abyss. It is the latest title in the Uncharted series, and the events are said to take place before the original game Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. For those not familiar with the plot of the previous games it takes place during present day and provides the player with a big world to explore. The game features the third person shooter style of game play. The developers who are in production of the game say it will stay true to the games previous elements, it will of course have the fantastic vista, and Drakes character model will stay intact. The game is also said to utilize the new OLED screen technology for added experience. And since it is for the PS Vita front and back touch is now available.

Another title which made the release list was a new version of Kill Zone. This game will be the second handheld version of the game which is to be released. For those who do not know the game is set during a war between the ISA and the Helghast. Now the original games were first person shooters, but the last game Liberation was a third person shooter; so it is unsaid what style of gameplay we can look forward to. And unfortunately right now there is little to know about the game. In doing research I have found little to no information on the new game. However it has been confirmed this is one of the new release titles, and it is well anticipated.

The PS3 game Wipeout 2048 is also said to be another release title. The futuristic racing game which we all loved on the console will now be released at the launch, and the game is even said to be compatible with the console. And because it is a vita game it utilizes the front and back touch pads. The back is used for acceleration, and the front is used for firing weapons. All in all it looks like another great title we can look forward to.

One of the original titles which is said to be released is Reality Fighters, in my opinion this is one of the cooler games being released. Now this one will obviously be one of the fighting genre games, however it is not one anyone has experienced before. Unlike games like Street Fighter and Mortal Combat this game uses aspects of reality to ensure your place at the top. The handheld PS Vita is said to utilize its camera and touchscreen to add reality to the game. This is definitely one you want to watch out for.

Another one of the new original titles is Little Deviants, and it is the title which is said to use the rear touch panel to the fullest. This game will show what this new console is capable of. In the game the touch panel can be used to raise the world, which in turn moves your sphere shaped character towards the predetermined goal. The real beauty of this game is it shows how revolutionary the new technology really is. It is one of the first games seen in which the player can actually feel the gameplay. It even is said to give the player a point of reference, so they know where to put their fingers. This new game is filled with mini games and is one you do not want to miss.

A new puzzle game is said to also be released, this is another original title by the name of Smart As. This game is one that console purchasers will want to get. It combines the aspects of a puzzle, with the capabilities of the new console. This is of course a new brain teaser game, but unlike other games in its genre you can compare your score to anyone else's in the world. It is said to include over 20 brain puzzles ranging on subjects like language, logic, arithmetic, and observation.

There are other games of course which haven't even been seen yet. We will just have to wait patiently for the console and all these wonderful games.

Persona 4 on the New PS Vita

A preview of the "Persona 4" game for the new upcoming Sony's PS Vita Persona 4-The Golden or P4is the most highly rated game across the world. It is hugely popular because of its role playing nature and is packed to the core with edge-of-the-seat excitement. This video game with a spooky plot was initially developed and published in Japan by Atlus for Sony’s Play Station 2. The P4 is the fifth version in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series. In North America the game took roots in December 2008 and since then has taken the gaming world by storm. One of the most interesting things about this edition is the inclusion of a special feature of weather forecast that allows the user to go playing unfazed even on foggy and dull days-an improvement over the previous ones based on lunar system.

The revamped Persona 4video game is due for release on the Sony Play Station Vita in the spring of 2012. It will include an additional female character Mary who will add even more zing. The game will have many more different voiceovers than its predecessor and the intrigue will never seem to end. Visually a large number of unseen scenes will transport the player into the fictional countryside of Japan. The oriental charms will never cease to fascinate you and if you happen to be a die-hard fan of Persona series, then you are at home with a striking resemblance to Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 as far as game plan and the production design are concerned.

That’s not all; you will be treated to some superb cinematic score by the master musician Shouji Meguro. Due care has been taken to incorporate as many suggestions as possible from the hardcore fans of the earlier versions. One of the surprise elements (oops! now no more a surprise) is the life-line of using wireless support just when you are about to breathe your last. The main protagonist of the Persona 4 has come from the city to the countryside retreat for a year and during his stay he stumbles upon cases of mysterious murders. With his power and ability to summon a specific persona every time, he takes up to investigating the murders. With so much of excitement Vita is surely poised to blow the roof.

Ragnarok Odyssey for the New Sony PlayStation Vita

Famitsu revealed details today on one of the titles currently in development for the PlayStation Vita-- Ragnarok Odyssey, which is being produced by Game Arts.

Ragnarok Odyssey is an action role-playing game that takes place in the same universe as Ragnarok Online, a popular PC MMORPG from 2002. The game play and world will feel similar to fans of RO.

Famitsu lists the game's genre as "Hunting Action," and it will play similar to titles in the Monster Hunter series. Much like Monster Hunter, Ragnarok Odyssey will offer simultaneous team play for up to four players, although it's not known yet whether the multiplayer options are available through Wi-Fi or 3G.

One thing that's for known for sure about Ragnarok Odyssey is that there will be plenty of combat for players to enjoy. Some of the enemies are from the Ragnarok Online world, and players will find orcs, fire beasts, demons and more. Some of the beasts will have epic proportions, like the Hrungnir, and will tower over the heads of characters.

Players will have a vast, powerful arsenal to combat these foes with. Combat will feature high speed attacks that can be executed aerially, and there will be possibilities for team attacks when playing with others.

Ragnarok Odyssey will have six character jobs available:

Sword Warrior - Uses dual swords and specializes in physical attacks.
Assassin - Wielder of dual daggers and master of speed.
Hunter - Ranged attacker that uses bow and arrows.
Mage - Ranged magic-wielder. Carries a staff and has weak physical attacks and defenses.
Hammer Smith - Melee attacker with a massive drill hammer. Has slow but extremely powerful attacks.
Cleric - Classic healer job. Wields a mace and shield, and is also adept at countering attacks.

Ragnarok Odyssey will feature a quest-based progression system that will be familiar to RPG players. After clearing quests, you will be able to obtain rewards and gain access to new quests and areas with more powerful monsters.

The game will be playable next week at the Tokyo Game Show at Sony's booth. No release date is currently known.

PS Vita Rumors: North America Gets PS Vita On December 31st?

Sony is ready to unleash the PS Vita and plenty of launch titles to go with it. The only problem is that they have yet to announce a date. Rumors have been popping up on various websites that North American gamers may get it on or before December 31st. That may not be true, but Sony has stated that they'll start shipping the handheld console in 2011.

What's also true is that the PS Vita won't be released in every territory at the same time. Japan will be the first to get their hands on it, since it's Sony homeland. What's not been made clear is who will get it next. This is probably for the best, but with so many big titles coming out it's difficult to place a pre-order when a gamer doesn't know when the system is coming out in their region. Plus, this isn't a cheap purchase with the wifi-only version costing $249 and the 3G version set at $300.

One thing's for sure: as soon as Sony releases the Vita in Japan, they'll start talking about the release dates for the rest of the world. For now, the best thing to do is to save up at buy it on Day One. However, just like with Duke Nukem Forever, there's going to be a group of gamers who will place a pre-order and wait as long as they need to.

PSP 3000 Vs PSP Go Vs PS Vita

In early June during the Electronics Entertainment Exposition Sony announced a new Play Station Portable or PSP. They call it the PSP Vita. The PSP family now consists of the PSP 3000, PSPGo and the newest member the PS Vita. It's time to look at all three by comparing their features in order to see which PSP is the one to choose.

We should start with the oldest member of the PSP family, the PSP 3000. Oldest meaning the design and look is virtually the same as when the PSP debuted. Little has changed to the overall design on the new PSP 3000. The PSP 3000's features include a 4.3 inch display. The newest feature just announced is the addition of a built in microphone. This allows the PSP 3000 user to use Skype to make phone calls over wifi. The UMD slot is in the back which allows you to swap out games and movies, saving your sd memory card for your pictures and your music collection. If you have access to wifi you have access to the web. The PSP 3000 allows you to access your favorite websites as well as connecting to Sony's Playstation Store.

The PSP Go removed the UMD slot in order to cut down on the bulk as well as making the PSP more energy efficient. Bluetooth is supported with the PSPGo so you can connect your blue tooth headsets to not only watch movies and listen to music but use Skype as well. The PSP Go comes with a 3.8 inch LCD wide screen display. The screen slides up to reveal the game controls and slides back down when you are not playing any games. The PSP 3000 needed sd memory cards. The PSP Go however comes with 16gb's of on board memory. Wifi allows you to purchase and download content directly from the Playstation Store.

The PS Vita at first glance is shaped roughly like the PSP 3000 but look closely you will see important differences. The PS Vita offers some important features that the other PSP's cannot match. PS Vita features a 5 inch OLED screen. The OLED screen makes it the brightest and best looking screen in the PSP family. Sony added two camera's on the Vita one in the front and one in the rear. PS Vita users now have a multi-touch display to use. You will never be lost again with the PS Vita in your pocket it comes with a built in GPS to help you find your way. Gaming is being enhanced as well with location based gaming allowing you to find other PS Vita gamers virtually. While all these features would be enough all by themselves Sony decided to make the PS Vita just a little bit better. Vita owners no longer have to worry about finding a wifi connection now the PS Vita has 3G connectivity. The internet is always at your fingertips.

While the other PSP's have great features and are certainly worth considering you just cannot over look all the great advantages the PS Vita has over the PSP 3000 and PSP Go. A bigger brighter display with a touch screen as well as front and rear cameras all make the PS Vita an incredible upgrade to the PSP family.

Sony PS Vita Release Date

When Can I Get A Playstation Vita?
As we finally have some confirmed information and not just rumors, the buzz has been growing: the Playstation Vita is coming. With a pile of interesting features including front and rear touch sensitivity, a quad core processor, gyroscope, front and rear cameras, and best of all a great price point, it looks like the 3DS has a serious competitor.

So of course now the question is, "When can I get one?". Well, you won't have to wait too long, but exactly how long is still up for debate.

When the first rumors of this new handheld were coming out, word was that it would launch in fall 2011, probably at the end of October. It's unusual for rumors to carry such a specific release date, so this may have held some credibility. However, likely because of delays caused by the Japan earthquake (although Sony has denied this (1), and of course, the usual delays all complicated electronics suffer, this supposed October release date seems out of the question now.

The latest rumor that has surfaced is that the Vita will be launching in the UK on November 4 (2). One could then assume that the US, JP, and other territories will be slightly before, on, or slightly after that date. But don't get too excited about this date.

First, if you check the source, you will see that the date is being pulled from a UK retailer listing. Retailer listings are hardly the most reliable source. Wouldn't it be nice if you could depend on the Gamestop estimated release date that they first put up to allow you to preorder that mega-hyped upcoming game? It would. But you can't. Retailers just want to get as many preorders as possible. If they have to push back their date later, they already have your order, and most people won't bother changing it. This is a normal way of doing business now.

Second, the Vita was just officially announced at E3. This would be the shortest time ever between an announcement and a major hardware release. The 3DS was announced at E3 June 2010, and wasn't released until Feb. 2011. Also, there is a large list of "confirmed" launch titles. Thinking all these could be ready to go by November is a stretch, depending on how long the developers have had their hands on dev kits.

Third, and most telling: At E3, when pressed about a Vita release date, Jack Tretton, SCEA president, said (paraphrasing) "the Vita will launch in at least one territory by the end of the year", and during E3 Kaz Hirai, Executive Deputy President of Sony's Consumer Electronics Division, said only that "the Vita will launch worldwide by the end of this year". It seems very likely that Sony will launch the Vita in Japan (-possibly- North America) only this Christmas, with a worldwide release coming soon after. Simultaneous worldwide releases are very difficult from a supply and marketing standpoint, and Nintendo employed a similar strategy with the 3DS. This possibility is backed up by recent rumors where Jack Tretton interviewed with Gametrailers TV (3), where he said a worldwide release would be "at latest, by March, 2012".

So, it seems the rumor mill is once again building around the Vita, after being someone dispelled by E3. The bottom line is, don't expect one before Christmas, especially if you aren't living in Japan, North America, or Western Europe. But Sony has put together a great little machine with what looks like an amazing launch lineup, so it should be worth the wait.
