The Best PSP Games Of 2011

This year 2011, its being said to be the year of demise for the PSP.  Why? the PSP had a good half year, good game releases, but mid 2011 marked the date of the possible death of PSP: yep slow game releases, and so the disinterest of playing PSP games has grown. And now with all the rumors about the Vita more the reason for the PSP to make way for the future of handheld gaming.  So, Vita will dominate the portable gaming market coming 2012 and probably some years to come.

Here are the best releases I found this year for the PSP:

1. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 Innocent Sin is a turn-based Role-Playing Game (RPG) for PlayStation Portable. It is the last of the existing Japanese Persona games to be released in North America. Innocent Sin is a port of this 1999 game originally released for PlayStation that together with Persona 2: Eternal Punishment are sequels to the original game in the Persona series, Revelations: Persona. The game features addictive single player RPG gameplay, powerful "Personas" that are aspects of character's personalities manifested in magic based abilities, party based combat, random battles, a range of improvements over the original Sony gaming console release and the ability to alter the realities of the game by spreading rumors to non-player characters encountered.

2. Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final FantasyCosmos, the goddess of harmony. Chaos—god of discord. Two divine powers locked in an endless struggle, each seeking to reign supreme.Long has the world played stage to their violent conflict, now at peace, now teetering on the verge of annihilation, but never for a moment striking a balance between the two.The scars of war run deep across the realm. And still these battles rage on, a tempest the eons cannot quell. The divine conflict between harmony and discord rages on, the fate of the world its promised prize. Fighting to secure it are brave souls summoned for that solitary purpose. These warriors, relying on what fragments of their shattered memories remain, fight to end the conflict - and for a chance to return home, to the worlds they each once knew.

3. In Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, you will experience a lost tale of political intrigue, conquest, and rebellion. It is your choices through a branching storyline that determine the fate of the Walister Resistance, characters in the game, and the story as a whole. Your rebellion is enhanced with reworked visuals, effects, a re-arranged soundtrack by the original composers, new character growth mechanics, and a new Wheel of Fortune system that adds even more replay value to the game. Get ready for an evolved "tactics" gameplay experience on the PSP! The creators of Final Fantasy Tactics bring you the next evolution in Tactics games from Square Enix in Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together! A dream team lead by Yasumi Matsuno has reunited to bring a perfect vision of their lost tale of political intrigue, conquest, and rebellion to vivid life. Experience an epic story where your choices determine the fate of the Walister Resistance. Order Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together today!

    4. Patapon 3 is a Music-Rythym game with light strategy and RPG elements for PlayStation Portable (PSP) that challenges players in the role of the godhead of the rhythmic oriented Patapons to save the tribe from an all-new scourge that has been unleashed upon them. The third release in the PSP exclusive Patapon franchise, Patapon 3 features a deeper campaign mode than earlier releases, as well as eight-player support via a local ad-hoc wireless connection as well as over the Internet. In addition, players can expect co-op quest and capture the flag modes, improved character customization and select text chat functionality.

    5. The 3rd Birthday - Hideous creatures descend on Manhattan. Ground reports from the squad tasked with containing the pandemonium refer to these life forms as "the Twisted." An investigatory team known as the CTI is formed within the year. The Overdive system emerges as a means of opposition, but only one viable candidate exists - Aya Brea. A gift as she awakens from a lost past on this, the occasion of her third birth. Take control of Aya Brea, the indomitable heroine from the Parasite Eve® series, in a visually stunning third-person shooter RPG. As the world rests on the brink of destruction by a horrific enemy known as "the Twisted," Aya remains the only candidate able to change the events of the past and save humanity from extinction.

    6. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is the first of a new trilogy in the established The Legend of Heroes RPG series. A highly detailed 3D world, beautiful original soundtrack, and unique strategic battle system showcase production values a generation beyond the previous iteration. An epic story about preserving the peace against all odds spanning over 50 hours of gameplay, with numerous optional side quests, makes this the biggest adventure ever available on a handheld system.

    7. ModNation Racers is a kart style racing game for PlayStation Portable (PSP) designed to provide gamers on the go with the same outstanding gameplay found in the PS3 version. The game features all the track-based driving and comic combat players relish in the kart racing genre, blended with extreme customization, and online sharing of user generated content expected of a modern online multiplayer title. Additional features included a single player career mode with 25+ crazy tracks, the PSP exclusive Last Kart Standing Mode and 6-racer multiplayer support via online or local ad-hoc wireless connections.

Top 3 Brutal and Scary PSP Games

There are many genres of video games avaiable on the market. Each game is unique and provides a fun and enjoyable experience for many people. Games such as shooters, sports, role playing and racing are among the most popular. Some video games are quite brutal as they have very gory content and are therefore best for mature audiences. There are three games that make up the top of the most brutal and scary games on the PSP. The games are Obscure: The Aftermath, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, and The 3rd Birthday.

Obscure The Aftermath is one of the survival horror games such as Resident Evil. The game is the sequel to Obscure which featured a group of high school students that were battling biological monsters. In this game the story picks up where the original left off with a few of the survivors from the previous game as they are now college students. They are now faced with combating and dealing with a black flower that is spreading all over their college campus. Unfortunately many of the students are using the flower to get high and as a result the survivors are facing another crisis. As a player you will choose one of six people and will have to do everything you can to survive and battle all of the mosters and other creatures along the way.

The next game is Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. In this game a father named Harry Mason crashes on the icy streets of the town called Silent Hill. After this happens, everything around him begins to get very unpleasant. He wakes up after the accident and is unable to find his 7 year old daughter Cheryl and begins to find her. Along the way he meets a local cop and a party girl while having difficulty regaining his memory. As the player you will have to control Harry and get out of the town while being chased by many ghouls.

Another one of the most brutal and scare games is the 3rd Birthday. This game is a follow up to the Parasite Eve games of the 1990's and early 2000's. The game is a third person action game that features the heroine Aya Brea. In the game players control Aya and begin her adventure. She has no memory of her past life and begins her journey in a near future New York. The city of New York has been taken over and ravaged by many creatures known as Twisted. Brea is recruited by the Investigation Team to use a device known as the overdrive system. The overdrive system allows her to get her psyche back into the past and control numerous soldiers to eliminate the creatures and change the outcome of past battles in order to change the present.

Top 10 PSP Racing Games Of All Time

    1) Isao Nakamura really outdid himself with the original Ridge Racer game, which includes two courses from the arcade-only game Rave Racer. These courses were previously not available outside of the arcade. As one might expect from a game like this, the music really rocks and received its own release. The game also features tracks from the original Ridge Racer as well as Ridge Racer Revolution, and is a well-rounded pocket racing game that packs a punch.

    2) When Sumo Digital developed Race Driver 2006, they had promised that the game would be a PSP port of the Race Driver 2 console game. What fans got was essentially more than one game, though. Race Driver 2006 packs fifteen different sports into one unit. The ice racing and rally cross modes are particularly challenging, though most speed demons will want to dive head first into the street racing set. The inclusion of classic cars is a real deal maker, and the program can even support up to 21 cars racing on a track at the same time.

    3) Who says that a good racing game has to be realistic? Certainly not the developers of Wipeout Pulse, who took the futuristic hovercraft racing from the Wipeout series and shrunk it down to hand held size. The game survived the transition well, and players will feel thrilled to work through the FX400 Anti-Gravity Racing League in the year 2207. Some of the tracks in this version allow for racers to magnetically lock onto the roadway and run through some huge loops. Instead of racing for trophies, players have to work hard to gain access to various grids as rewards.

    4) Ridge Racer 2 takes the arcade racing of its predecessor back onto the PSP, and might be considered right up there with it. However, it unfortunately wasn't offered in every region of the world. That doesn't mean that it can't be appreciated for the great drifting action that the series focuses on. In fact, it probably handles oversteering a shade better than the following PSP game in the series.

    5) If you like to rock out to the Ridge Racing series, one play through of the Earache: Extreme Metal Racing will have you head banging. The game carries the name of the British Earache Records label, and features music from bands signed to the game. As might be expected of a game like this one, there are a number of extra modes that are actually more fun than the regular racetracks. The opposition will get crushed in a Death Race, but the Death Match really brings combat to the forefront. This is a free for all that throws racing out of the window and focuses on fighting coupled with competitive action. Of course, for purists there is a three race challenge mode as well as time trials. For those who aren't racing purists, there is the Zombie Massacre mini-game.

    6) As with some of the other titles, Asphalt: Urban GT 2 had an interesting release history. It actually had a version developed for mobile phones, but it clearly can't do all of the things that the dynamic PSP version can. The game can be called a spiritual successor of Need For Speed in many ways, and is probably one of the more classic games that fit into the genre on this device. Players should pay special attention to the wanted meter, which really seems to be a throw back to the Grand Theft Auto series.

    7) Ford Bold Moves Street Racing is also sometimes identified by the name used for PC and Xbox versions of the game: Ford Street Racing. Regardless of what name is used, the game features quite a few Ford models that aficionados of the marquee should enjoy. The F-150, GT90, Mustang and Probe tear it up in this game from Razorworks, which also features some tuner vehicles.

    8) ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails has an interesting history. More than half of all the sales of this title were made through the PSP Bundle Pack. Considering the interest in powersports among even the general population, one might have thought that there would be a real rash of titles in the genre to please fans. However, this game packs plenty of off road fun for anyone who wants to shred the dirt.

    9) It might seem weird to admit that a game like the PSP port of ModNation Racers can even be taken seriously, and it was compared to LitteBigPlanet. It focuses heavily on customization, and the art style is quite strange. That shouldn't detract from the fact that this wacky game has a lot of heart and is a blast to play. It also marks one of the few points in video game history where a racing game had a decent story design.

    10) Even if it doesn't have a marquee that most gamers would want to be associated with, the Hot Wheels: Ultimate Racing! game actually features thirty vehicles and competitive weapons that call to mind the kart racers that used to be so popular on console units. There are actually a pretty decent number of tricks to accomplish in the game as well.

    Portabliss: PSP Mini Mission Impossible

Have you ever imagined downloading a game and playing it right in your hand? If yes, it’s no more a fantasy because finding a game to download play in your handheld device has become so easy one could ever think of. There internet sure has a lot of stuff to deal with it. But how is the ultimate question? How would you ever make your choice when there are loads of stuff on the internet and you are totally unsure of what to download and where to download them from?

To aid this and more, we provide you the right sort of guidance on choosing the handheld game of the week through the Portabliss portal. Be it an iPad, iPhone, PSP device, Andriod phone, tab or more, we bring to front the most popular game of the day. With that info in hand, you are left with the convenience of making your choice and thus do not have to grope around in finding the right game to sport with.

This day, we feature the Impossible Game for you to play with. Truly impossible for me to play, I just stick myself to this game for the sheer instinct I would have to place in making the success really happen, and when will that happen, I don’t know for sure!

This game, I should say, is one mode of strategy and focus. How can you concentrate and set your focus hard hitting on the game is very important and all the more important it is to make the final big hit. You are the little square that requires jumping over obstacles and hitting platforms every time. One miss and you are done. Start from the scratch! Aww… that is terrible and it makes me more terrible to keep trying it over and over again.

I can say that mere understanding how to play the game is never going to help you at all. The trick is all the more difficult and mind cracking when you need to pour all your focus at a single go. Besides all that, what keeps me ticking is the music that accompanies along the game and keeps me viable for the next try.

Could PS Vita mean the death of the PSP?

Sony's new PS Vita is slated for release sometime in 2012, but back in 2005 the PSP reigned supreme. That year, stores like Best Buy were selling out of these small gaming investments like there was no tomorrow. There was a mad rush to get one before Christmas that year and several stores had to place the item on back-order or give rain-checks to unlucky customers. This was definitely the most popular portable device amongst teens, children ages 9 and up, and adults alike and for a good reason: this was the most innovative portable gaming device ever to hit the market.

The PSP's predecessor's occurred decades earlier with Sega's Game Gear being released in 1991, and Nintendo's Gameboy in 1989. The Game Gear was innovative in that it featured a back-lit LED color screen and better, crisper graphics than the Nintendo Gameboy. Sega's Game Gear saw a sharp rise in popularity and a steep decline as well, due to Nintendo's competitive release of the Gameboy pocket, a slimmed-down, multi-colored version of the Gameboy.

The PSP blew these previous portable consoles out of the water. It's graphics were super-sharp, it had a built-in joystick, a wide horizontal viewing screen, it played movies and mp3's, it boasted Wi-Fi capability for multi-player gameplay, and it could browse the internet wherever there was Wi-Fi available. This truly was a modern marvel of portable gaming.

Now Sony plans to one-up itself with a newer version of what made their first portable device a hit.

The PS Vita is slated for North American release some time in 2012 but already crowds are eagerly anticipating it's arrival. What makes it different from the PSP is it's massive 5-inch, 24-bit color touchscreen, a Sixaxis motion sensor (with Three-axis electronic compass), front and back VGA cameras, built in GPS, and the option for 3G support, which would mean internet accessibility anytime you're in range of reception.

This powerhouse of a portable gaming console will be highly sought after by avid members of the gaming community and most likely the PSP will be forgotten about. Users wishing to upgrade from their current PSP will take refuge in the fact that the PS Vita will be backwards compatible, meaning it'll be able to play games from the previous PSP device. This, hopefully, should make the transition to Vita much easier for everyone.

    6. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Essentials

This game was made specifically with the PSP platform in mind. The story of Essentials for the PSP begins where Splinter Cell: Double Agent ends. This time, you'll go behind enemy lines as OSS Operative John Berg when playing the single player campaign, and with up 32 players online. Fans of the Medal of Honor franchise will know what to expect here. If you enjoy the Medal of Honor games, then you have no reason not to like this installment.

    8. Call of Duty: Roads to Victory

Players get to fight in the Liberation of Paris in Call of Duty: Roads to Victory for the PSP. Roads to Victory gives players a total of 14 new missions made up of 3 different campaigns, featuring soldiers of The U.S, British, and Canadian armies, each fighting against Nazi soldiers. The only disappointing part about this game is its lack of multiplayer support. Still, this game is a must for any die hard world war II simulation junky.

    9. Killzone: Liberation

Not a first person shooter like its predecessor, Killzone: Liberation is a shooter nonetheless, and many would consider it an improvement over the PS2 original. Liberation's storyline takes place in the future, and takes place immediately after the first game, and involves you once again fighting the evil Helghast. Tons of action gameplay here, but again, no multiplayer keeps it from being as fun as it could have been.

    10. Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

A sequel to Dark Mirror, Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow has everything a good shooter should have: a fun single player campaign, awesome multiplayer combat, great graphics, and really good production value. This installment has a government official by the name of Cordell wanting a mysterious cargo from a ship at sea, and Gabe is the only one that can get the job done. Use Taser, Rifle, Shotgun, and other weapons in your arsenal to blow up the bad guys, and save the world. Or just use yoru Taser to make them dance a little, (hehe). Another title in the Syphon Filter Franchise that is a great way to waste several hours.

Free PSP Movies Sites | Download Scams

How PSP Movie Download Websites Can Be a Scam?

PSP commonly known its short for PlayStation Portable. Well, let me tell you how this portable gaming console is more popular than the more conventional consoles. The PlayStation Portable can be used even on the move. It is quite an efficient gaming console for portable use. What is more, you can play a number of high-end games on the PSP. In fact, the PSP is also a multi-purpose device. It is also a console, where you can play movies as well. For this reason, there are many places, from where you can download any movie of your choice. Then, you can upload and play them on the PSP. So, you can use the PlayStation Portable for even your portable movie experience.

Do you also know that such movie downloads are known as PSP Movie Downloads? Such files are especially formatted to be compatible for playing on the PSP. There are selected websites, where you can find these formatted files. These websites promise to offer the best range of movie files. These websites contain files that have been uploaded by those, who own the websites. These PSP Download files promise to be with good quality picture and sound quality. However, is this real fact? Are the files really worth downloading? There have been some rumors about how some of these websites are false and fake.

The thing is that many of these PSP Download Websites are actually fake and phony. This is because these websites are not actually websites for downloads and uploads. They are actually websites for product placements and advertisements. This means that the sellers of these products may want to advertise them on these websites. So, they would like to also include some game downloads in their websites. This would be mainly to attract more people in their websites. This would be done so as to encourage the people to buy the products. So, these websites are actually platforms for the product endorsements.

It may be true that downloads from the website may be of good quality. They may have good sound and picture quality. However, a stronger truth is that downloads may not be any genuine. This is because these download files are not free from viruses or bugs. If they are actually downloaded and used, they may end up damaging the entire portable PlayStation. Thus, with the new onslaught of viruses, your PSP may not work at all. This may ruin your entire movie watching experience. In fact, these downloads may not be complete as well. Sometimes, the files downloaded from the sites are not complete. The file links may be broken or disrupted.

There is yet another reason why the downloads from these fake websites may end up filling the PSP systems with viruses and bugs. The problem is that these download websites and databases may act as bases for product placements and endorsements. This means that there will be many visual and animated ads on the websites. Now, normally, these would not be a problem. However, these websites may contain the harmful and malignant viruses. Now, if you download files from such websites, you may be doing yourself a risk. The viruses may travel from the websites to the files downloaded. When you will be playing the files, your PSP applications and programs will be badly affected. So, this could be a really grave problem.

With such evidence and solid facts now in front of us, it should be remembered that these PSP download websites are a major scam. So, you should steer clear of downloads and instead play movies on pen-drives and disks.

The marketplaces for such articles, valuables and electronic gadgets have shifted to the e-commerce websites and databases. Some of the most popular sites are Amazon, eBay and Best Buy. Some of these websites are ideal places for online auctions and bids. People can sell their articles on these websites and the prospective buyers can bid for a suitable price of these goods. The highest bidder gets to buy the auctioned product. There are other websites, which are far simpler in their approach. These serve as shopping websites and databases for every kind of product. Best PSP Repair Services Online

You're not out of luck if your PSP falters. There are many ways to find a repair service online and get back to gaming. Below are some of the best PSP repair services online.

    iResQ.com
One way to get your PSP repaired is through the services of iResQ. iResQ offers repairs for most of the common issues PSP owners are faced with: Joystick repair, UMD laser repair, mother repair, and of course, screen repair. All of the repair options are also supplemented with options to replace the components if they are beyond repair. On top of all of this, iResQ also offers free diagnostic services for your PSP. If you do not know what’s wrong with the unit, just ship it to them, and the company will contact you within 24 hours to let you know what the problem is and discuss your options. Prices for repairs vary based on the repair, but are very reasonable. A screen repair will only cost $89, while a simpler joystick repair will cost $39.

    TechRestore.com
TechRestor offers similar functionality to iResQ, but their options aren’t as broad and the pricing isn’t as flexible. The repairs offered are for the screen, issues reading games, and issues with a button or joystick not functioning. The company does not explicitly offer any diagnostic options. They do have an option to select “Other” when describing your problem, so getting a repair for something other than what they overtly mentioned may be a possibility. All repairs are $89, plus a minimum shipping fee of $10, so any repair will cost a minimum of almost $100.

    PDASmart.com
PDASmart offers a range of PSP repair options. The company offers the typical options, such as screen, UMD door, laser assembly, and a battery replacement. The company’s prices are among the most competitive rates available. A screen replacement through the mail-in service, for instance, will only cost $60. This rate is significantly cheaper than some other services. In addition, the company also offers the option to purchase the part and perform repairs yourself. This option isn’t for everybody, but can be a money saver for the more enterprising PSP owners out there.

    PS-Pros
Another company that might be worthy of your consideration is PS-Pros.com. The site repairs not just PSP’s, but also PlayStation 3’s and PlayStation 2’s. PS-Pros offers a fast turnaround time of only 1-2 business days, and includes a 90 day warranty with all repairs. On top of this, they offer upgrade services for your PSP as well. The company boasts to have successfully repaired over 95% of their orders. They offer a free diagnostic service, but you won’t know the price until you send it in and have it looked at. PS-Pros states that prices range from $59.99 to $119.99. The prices are all-inclusive, meaning that parts and labor are included in those figures.

    Mission: Repair
If, for some reason, the other sites mentioned aren’t what you’re looking for, you can try MissionRepair.com. The company is moderately well-known and has a good reputation. If you’re insecure with using the other sites, maybe Mission: Repair’s reputable status is for you.

    Llamma.com
Llamma is a website that’s been around for awhile, and been a valuable resource to do-it-yourselfers. The site mentions offering PSP repairs, but that appears to have been discontinued. However, it’s still a great resource if you’re not comfortable with mailing out your PSP. Llamma sells many parts at a reasonable rate. In addition, they offer several tutorials for specific issues, as well as a universal disassembly guide. The tutorials are over four years old, so newer models with different builds may differ slightly from what’s listed in the tutorials. However, the knowledge within them can still be useful to someone that trusts their tech skills.

    Craigslist
One final alternative is Craigslist. If you don’t want to mail your PSP off to some stranger, but you also don’t have the technical know-how to fix your PSP on your own, then Craigslist is a very viable option. Simply go to your city’s page, or the nearest city that Craigslist offers a page for. Once there, use the search tool on the left side of the page and simply search for “PSP repair,” either under the For Sale or Services category. In larger cities, you’ll find different vendors offering their services. Even if the city you’re searching in is small, you may still have luck finding someone to repair it. Craigslist offers the advantage of being able to be present while your PSP is repaired. Additionally, since most people offering repairs on the site are working independently, you might get your repair done for cheaper than most companies.

PSP Portals - PSP Web Based Experience

PSP (Play Station Portable) is one of the most popular handheld gaming devices to ever hit the market. The appeal of the PSP lies not only in its small package and portability but the internet access available in newer devices. The PSP has come along way since some of the first handheld gaming devices such as the Gameboy, and offered a level of sophistication as well as impressive technology to what externally seems just like a handheld gaming device.

In addition to games and accessories to go with the PSP, there are also PSP Portals. PSP Portals are a set of web pages designed specifically for your PSP. You put these on your PSP and then are allowed to play games and use apps on them as you please. PSP Portals are a completely legal way to expand the use of your PSP device, and they have taken the internet by storm. Thousands of sites offer different PSP Portal downloads for users, and with each new creation comes new designs, graphics and capabilities with the portals. With the creation of these portals the realm of obsession with handheld gaming devices and online gaming have expanded, as the portals have become all-encompassing hobbies and even methods of income for many young gamers.

There are numerous types of portals, ranging from ones to simulate windows XP to different flash portals that are designed to look like individual themes. The portals offer different designs, backgrounds and features that allow users to update the individual look and capabilities of their PSP, multiple PSP Portals can be downloaded if desired.

After downloading a PSP Portal from a variety of online sources, hooking up your new download to your device is actually quite simple. After plugging your PSP into your computer with a usb cable, you can access your PSP's memory and files from your computer. From there you simple click and drag your PSP Portal to the folder associated with your PSP device and you are all done.

When you visit a site to download a PSP Portal, make sure the site looks legitimate before proceeding. There should be videos and screen shots of what the portal will look like once downloaded to give you a clear idea of what it will actually look like. Some more sophisticated sites even offer interactive previews of what the portal will look like once downloaded, allowing the potential user to explore exactly what the portal will be like. Each site will have its own specific download instructions that may vary slightly from the ones above, but should offer an easy method of downloading your portal.

Qriocity PSP - Music Streaming App For The PSP

For the latest app in the music world for your PSP, the Qriocity Sony 'music unlimited' streaming service is the next technology for must lovers who want to stream live music to their PSPs to turn to. The Qriocity is a live music streaming service (similar to satellite radio streaming services), which has been developed by Sony, and can be used by PSP owners to get live music from their handheld gaming devices.

The Sony Qriocity offers unlimited access to over six million songs, and allows users to personalize their own music libraries, and set up their own playlists. The service allows users to try a 30 day risk free trial on their PSP, or other wireless and handheld devices, however consumers are required to enter credit card information for the service. If, at the end of thirty days they keep the service, they will be charged a subscription monthly fee. However, if they cancel at or prior to the thirty day mark, their cards will not be charged. With this thirty day trial consumers can play songs commercial free, and choose from a library of over 6 million songs. You can also customize and get recommendations from other artists based on which songs you are currently listening to and streaming onto the PSP. Basically the Qriocity will learn your listening habits for music choices, and will make song and artist recommendations based on what you listen to.

Although it is a fairly basic service, it does offer a huge library of songs to choose from. However, for users streaming the Sony Qriocity onto their PSP devices, there have been mixed reviews about the service and quality which they have experienced. Many consumers complain that having to control a mouse-based interface which the Qriocity uses, on the joystick pad of the PSP is terrible, and takes forever. Additionally the virtual keyboard, a lag in the interface, only mediocre quality for playback do not offer the best environment for the Qriocity App. Additionally, consumers who had issues with the services claimed the load time was extremely long, and the audio, once finally completed, extremely poor.

On the other side, consumers who enjoyed the service claimed that it gave them a streaming app with all the music they wanted, sound quality was good enough, and the subscription fee was fair for the service. Overall, it is a fairly new app, so tweaks need to be worked out; but, eventually it might be a great streaming music app for PSP users.

How to Set Your PSP Network Setting

How to Configure Your PSP Network Settings For Web Browsing

To set up a network connection for your PSP, turn on the PSP and make sure the wireless access switch on the left side of the PSP is on. Once booted to the home screen, press left on the directional pad to navigate to the “Settings” section of the XrossMediaBar. If you are using stock firmware, this should be on the far left with a toolbox icon. Press down until the “Network Settings” entry is highlighted. Press the “X” button to start the Network Settings Wizard. Choose “Infrastructure Mode” from the list of choices. This will allow the PSP to connect to an available wireless router connection. Select “[New Connection]” and press the “X” button on the connection name to set a custom name for the connection.

If the network you want to connect to does not broadcast its SSID, choose “Enter Manually.” In the box provided, enter the SSID of the network. Switching between pages using the directional pad, configure the network’s security and IP address settings. If the network broadcasts its SSID, choose “Scan.” The PSP will then scan for available wireless networks and display a list of the results including signal strength and security. Choose the desired network from the list provided.

At this point, the PSP will display the SSID to confirm your network choice. Using the directional pad, scroll through the options for WLAN Security Settings and Address Settings. The default choices on these menus are typically correct. For WLAN Security Settings, if the appropriate encryption method is not selected, choose the correct method and enter the passkey. For address settings, if the router does not automatically assign an IP address, or you wish to set your own static IP address, choose “Custom” instead of “Easy” and fill in the IP address, DNS settings, proxy settings, and Internet browser start control fields. PSP Apps - The Best PSP Applications Revealed

The PSP has proven to be one of the best game systems on the market, but commonly forgotten are the myriad of apps that the PSP can run. For those of you who do not know app is the short version of the word application, and that is what they are. You can run all kinds of applications that have been developed just for the PSP.

There are free apps and apps that you pay for. These apps come from various sources. There are individual developers and commercial developers, so do be careful when using an app from an unknown source as they can contain viruses.

One of the best PSP apps is PSP Video 9; it is a video conversion utility, giving you the ability to convert various video formats into a new and different format. This comes in handy if your video player only plays certain formats, or you have downloaded from the internet. This is a free app so you can try it without worrying.

BookR is an awesome free PSP app that allows you to read all of the major text formats on the PSP. These include PDF, text files and all the rest. If you use your PSP much at all outside of the gaming realm, this is a must have because you will surely run into text files along the way.

There is the PSP PDA, this is truly awesome, it gives you the ability to use your portable game system to track appointments, keep addresses and emails, phone numbers and so much more. This is also a free app available for the PSP giving you a true portable and useful app experience.

You must have the PSP Media Player. PSP in itself can only play video that is in the PSP format, but with Media Player you can watch videos in all the common formats. Combining this app and the video conversion utility gives you the ability to watch almost any video you can get your hands on.

PSP VNC is a great program for multi-computer homes. If you have wireless in the household VNC lets you access the other computers in the home from the PSP and vice versa. Common PSP Wifi Problems and Fix Procedures

Numerous problems can be encountered when attempting to connect a PSP to a wireless network. The first issue occurs when the PSP is completely unable to connect to the network. In this case, the first fix that should be attempted is to turn off power saving by going to Settings, Power Save Settings, and turning off WLAN Power Save. If the problem persists, the next step is to confirm that the right network is being connected to by verifying the SSID and that the correct security key is being used. Following this, every device in the wireless network should be turned off and then turned back on again, including access points, routers, and modems. The problem can also be caused by having too many devices on a wireless network, and so other devices on the network should be disconnected. Finally, the network connection should be verified by accessing the internet through another device, such as a computer.

Another common problem is that the PSP can connect to the network, but cannot access the internet, or that the PSP can access the internet, but not Sony's servers. The most likely problem in these cases is that a router firewall is blocking communication. To solve this, certain ports must be opened in the router's firewall. For PlayStation Network and SCEA game servers, these ports include the TCP Ports 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080 and the UDP Ports 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070. To find out how to open ports in a router, the router manufacturer should be contacted.

The last problem that may be encountered is an intermittent or unreliable wireless connection. To fix this, the signal strength must be improved. One way to do this is to simply move the PSP closer to the wireless router. This will improve the connection quality in almost every case. If this is not possible, interference should be eliminated. Physical barriers between the PSP and the router should be removed, and other sources of radiation, such as microwave ovens, florescent lighting, Bluetooth enables devices, 2.4 gigahertz cordless phones, high power sound systems, televisions, computer monitors, or any other source of Radio Frequency (RF) interference should be shut off or removed.

If none of these fixes work, the PSP should be updated to the latest firmware from Sony. If problems continue to persist, Sony technical support should be contacted as the PSP may be defective.

PSP is the Top Selling Handheld in Japan Once Again

The Nintendo 3DS is loosing some of the speed that it burst onto the scene with, while the PSP has retaken its place as the top selling handheld gaming system in Japan. Sadly, the earthquake and tsunami damage that rocked Japan in March has probably done quite a bit to set back sales of the 3DS. Reportedly, only slightly more than half of the initial Japanese shipment of 3DS units had even been sold by March. That comes to a total of 836,000 3DS units.

As of July 2011, the PSP was still pulling ahead of their Nintendo competition. During the week of July 10, the PSP sold over 26,000 units while the 3DS only sold around 23,000. That difference is perhaps more important than it might seem. Danboru Senki, which is also known as the Little Battlers among other titles, is the sixth best selling game in Japan. The last sales charts showed that no 3DS game was outselling it.

That particular RPG has the potential to become a real media franchise. If it does, the PSP would have a selling point among fans of the series in Japan. Danboru Senki follows the story of an individual who does battle with plastic robot models. In March, TV Tokyo premiered a Danboru Senki anime series. The show itself is based on a tabletop gaming system. A Danboru Senki manga has also enjoyed some popularity.

With the huge number of RPG titles that have already made waves on the PSP, this is an interesting opportunity. Mecha combat is not a new idea by any means, but these sorts of games usually do decent business. Other PSP games have also done relatively strong business in Japan recently, and many of them are connected to popular media franchise. Haruhi Suzumiya’s Mahjong and Gundam Memories: Memories of the Battle are both connected to series that rank among Japan's top properties.

To Heart 2 Dungeon Travelers is a game that saw some fare business in the week that sales were measured. It was descended from a line of romance visual novel games. Steins;Gate shares a similar lineage. That visual novel game is set in Akihabara. That setting might prove interesting to people who are in the market for such games. If the PSP should continue to enjoy such growth, however, remains to be seen. With games like these, though, it might continue to outrank the Nintendo 3DS.

The game has improved artificial intelligence on both the sides of the ball, play calling system is also streamlined and to add a change to the game the commentary has been given to the Gus Johnson instead of the dull Tom Hammond. The addition of the game flow is the most significant change in the game as you can now call your offensive and defensive plays by just clicking a button. The game is a treat to play and has an average rating of 8 from both the players and the critics.

    2. Madden NFL 10
Madden NFL 10 is among the top candidates for being the best game of football. Commentary however, is still boring and dull.

    3. NCAA Football 10
NCAA Football 10 is definitely the most addictive of all the football games available these days. With the season showdown at one end surprising the players and on the other end an 8.2 average rating from the players and the critics, this game has definitely got something for the players. The defensive aids are finally working well in the game and the whole flow of the game now feels alright.

    4. Madden NFL 09
A lot of work has been done on the graphics and the animation portion of the Madden NFL 09, and has certainly got the critics attention. The treat element of the game is the tremendous commentary by Cris Collinsworth. The specially added backtrack feature tells the player why the play was a failure and the rewind option gives him the chance to play that portion again. Formation audible is also a good addition to the game, allowing the player to change plays easily.

    5. Madden NFL 12
Yet to be released this August, Madden NFL 12 is the game that has got all the attention of the audience and the football lovers. The game promises great changes over the previous version and has a unique feature of human controlled cameras; which has specially got attention, and is the topic of discussion these days. The fast paced game play is the attraction of the game and has definitely given a unique taste to it. The respect the street mode in the game has a lot of options and allows the player to free his arms. Generally speaking, the graphics look much better on the PSP than on PS-2.

    7. NCAA Football 09
NCAA Football 09 is a real improvement in many aspects like the advance graphics and animations are really good to look at. The game makers have put in hard work in making the college environment as real as possible. The online dynasty mode has an added feature of supporting 12 players at a time, which is enough to satisfy many players. The game has also the feature of home team getting an advantage but it is pretty balanced and not cheap at all. The game has a normal rating of 7.5 from the critics and 7.9 rating from the players.

    8. Madden NFL 07
Madden NFL 07 has retained back what it lost in the 2006 version, that is many key features like advance tackling techniques and quality graphics. Highlight stick and the lead blocker controls are a pleasant change in the game play. The super star mode is very reasonable this year and is not like the previous editions. The key feature of the game is the inclusion of the hall of the fame players in the game as well, and adds a different taste to the game.

    9. NFL Street 2: Unleashed
The game has all the game modes of the Street version 2 as well and is a decent game over all. Due to the dumbed down graphics from the PS 2 version the game gets an average score of 7.3 from the critics and 7.8 from the players. Many of the new mini games are a good addition to the game.

    10. NCAA Football 2007
The major changes over the previous versions are the atmosphere of the game; that has taken it places above the other games and its previous version as well, dynasty mode is still there for the players to enjoy and there are lots of different achievements to unlock and many added graphics as well.

    11. Madden NFL 08
The game is highly rated among the critics and the players and has the average rating of 8.2 combined. It has a new “weapons” feature that adds a lot to the game play, the game play is a bit complex for the beginners but with practise manageable. The animations and the graphics both are better than the previous versions of the game.

    12. Madden NFL 2006
Released in August, 2005, the game has an excellent rating from the critics and the players. The defensive and offensive both plays are much better and easier than the previous versions, franchise mode continues to thrill the players and the over-all game play is even more challenging.
